What is waxing?

Waxing is a hair removal technique that pulls hair out from the skin by the root.

How long does waxing last?

Waxing can last anywhere from 3-6 weeks then the hair will grow back thinner and slower.

What type of wax does elite beauty bar use?

We use a combination of both soft and hard wax to ensure the correct wax is used in the proper locations. 

Does waxing hurt?

Waxing, especially the first time can be sensitiveThis will depend on your skin type, coarseness of the hair and pain tolerance. For people getting waxed for the first time it will most likely be uncomfortable however regular waxing will reduce discomfort. You may also take a pain reliever prior to your appointment to minimize discomfort. 

How long do i have to let my hair grow?

We recommend  letting your hair grow for 2 weeks. 

If i am pregnant, can i still get waxed?

Yes! Whether you are at your due date or in the early stages it is safe however waxing during pregnancy  can cause more pain than normal. We suggest taking a pregnancy safe pain reliever one hour prior to waxing. We also offer additional pillows for your comfort upon request.

Will medication affect waxing?

Yes! No waxing for 6 months if you've taken Accutane. Antibiotics that have an affect on the skin or enhances sensitivity to the sun. Retinol or or similar active prescription products must be discontinued for 7 days prior to waxing. These medications often thin out and weaken your skin making you more sensitive. 

Is there a minimum age requirement?

The minimum age is 18 years old however any minor may receive services by having a parent or legal guardian review and sign a Consent form.
